Trended Valuations are accessible in several locations throughout Portal, integrated into existing workflows so you can use it seamlessly as part of your existing pricing activity. Trended Valuations are in Vehicle Edit under a new “Valuation and pricing” tab, and when you Retail Check a vehicle. There is also a simplified customer view you can access when you Retail Check an out-of-stock vehicle, just click on “Customer view” link. This will show you the current part-exchange valuation with the ability to toggle between 1, 3 and 6-month historic & future valuations to illustrate to the customer the valuation movements for their vehicle.

You can choose to see a 1, 3 or 6-month view of the valuation trend. The chart will plot the valuation forecast which you can hover over to see the forecast valuations for select dates within that range. We’ll also plot the valuation forecast at the Average Days to Sell date, so you know the expected valuation at the point you would typically expect to sell the vehicle.

Our future forecasts take into account: Current supply and demand dynamics, typical seasonal pricing trends, the most recent OEM new car list price for each derivative, and current & historical retailer pricing. They do not attempt to factor in any opinion around future market dynamics and would not account for unexpected events.

Yes, like all our valuations, the future forecast will recalculate each day, giving you the most up-to-date forecast for any given derivative.

A forecast can never be 100% accurate, especially when there are so many external factors which can impact the price of a vehicle. What we’re looking for is a high degree of confidence that the forecast is accurate enough so it can be relied upon and give confidence in decision-making.
