In this video Alex Legouix and Rory Reid put three formidable fast executive cars through their paces to work out which one is really the best. To remove all subjectivity Rory and Alex head to Millbrook Proving Ground in Bedfordshire to test the saloons in a series of challenges and leave no stone unturned.
So, can a combination of science and jelly determine whether the Audi RS7, BMW M5 or Porsche Panamera is the most capable overall? From straight-line speed to motorway efficiency, the pair carry out seven trials all designed to find the ultimate winner.

BMW M5

With 727 horsepower the latest BMW M5 packs a punch. Now a plug-in hybrid, the all-wheel drive M5 combines a twin turbo V8 engine with a battery and motor giving it an all-electric range of around 40 miles. With an official kerb weight of 2.5 tonnes the BMW is the heaviest of the trio on paper, but how will this impact its performance at Millbrook?

Audi RS7

Audi’s RS7 looks the sleekest of the three to our eyes, but is it officially the prettiest? The RS7 is the only car here without the addition of hybrid technology. While this helps to keep its weight down, its bi-turbo V8 produces 630 horsepower which is much less than the M5. Will the Audi get left behind, or could it be the best of the bunch?

Porsche Panamera

Finally, there’s the Porsche Panamera. The version tested here is the Turbo E-Hybrid which, like the BMW, combines a V8 and an electric motor, giving Alex and Rory 680 horsepower to play with. While all cars tested will set you back a hefty six-figure sum, the Porsche is by far the most expensive and you’ll have to watch to the end of the video to find out whether the extra money is worth it. If you enjoyed this video give it a like and let Rory and Alex know which car is your favourite in the YouTube comments. You can also subscribe for more like it.
