Audi has been busy this year updating several of its models and launching new cars like the Q6 e-tron. We’ve already seen the updated A3 and now it’s the RS3’s turn. Fans of the RS3 will be pleased to hear Audi hasn’t strayed far from the existing recipe, it’s simply sprinkled a little more seasoning into the mix. Will this be enough to keep the RS3 competitive against the Mercedes-AMG A45 S? Alex Legouix takes a tour of the new RS3 to show you how it shapes up.
Starting with the new front grille, accentuated side air intakes and front splitter, the RS3 has gained a meaner stance adding to its already striking road presence. The headlights are new too. These have a unique RS specific light pattern and you can configure them with several additional designs. As Alex walks around the car, the same story continues at the back. Here, the combination of the diffuser and the oval tailpipes make the RS3 look more imposing than ever. Under the bonnet things haven’t changed much, as Alex explains, the RS3 retains its distinctive five-cylinder engine with its signature sound, 400 horsepower and top speed of just under 180mph on Carbon Vorsprung models. Audi says it has tweaked the exhaust to produce a rich sound in each of the car’s driving modes. It has also adjusted how the car responses to driver input to improve the way it handles around corners and to make it easier to drift. As Alex gets behind the wheel she is met with a variety of soft touch materials, supportive bucket seats and updated technology. Audi claims the RS3 is an experience for all the senses and says you can smell the quality of the RS3’s interior the second you open the door, but what does Alex think? You’ll have to watch the video to find out. If you enjoyed this video give it a like and let Alex know your thoughts on the new RS3 in the YouTube comments. You can also subscribe for more like it.
