So you want to know which new cars are going on sale in 2025? Well, here are the ones we know about for certain. Some proper crackers. Exciting times ahead. Let's go...

Hyundai Ioniq 9
When can I buy one?
Summer 2025. How much will it cost? From £65,000. But you could go beyond £80,000. Yep, an £80k Hyundai. What should I know about it? The price looks a bit less mad when you consider how much car the Ioniq 9 actually is, and how luxurious it’s likely to be. It’s a massive seven-seat electric SUV with an equally enormous battery, promising a 400-mile range. And almost certainly a match for a 'premium German' car in every way, aside from the abstract concept of brand prestige. Back to top

Dacia Bigster
When can I buy one?
In time for the March 2025 plate change, probably. How much will it cost? Not confirmed yet but definitely less than £30,000. What should I know about it? The completely unironic name signifies that this is the most biggest Dacia ever, bigly. It only has five seats – two fewer than the Dacia Jogger – but the boot is bigger than a Range Rover Sport's. You can even fit a tent to the back of it. A clever hybrid system means it’ll be proper cheap to run too, and you can have it with four-wheel drive. Back to top

Kia EV4
When can I buy one?
It’s still a concept right now, so probably towards the end of 2025. How much will it cost? From about £40,000. What should I know about it? The EV4 is a saloon. Remember those? But Kia making an electric non-SUV for 40 grand isn’t that weird when you think about how many people have bought a Tesla Model 3. If Kia can get even 80 per cent of the concept car’s striking looks to production, it’ll be a very viable alternative to Tesla's four-door company car phenomenon. Back to top

BMW iX3
When can I buy one?
Late in 2025. How much will it cost? At least £50,000. What should I know about it? This iX3 will be the first of a new generation of BMW electric cars – a generation BMW is calling “Neue Klasse”. This ... new class ... of cars will all be built on a fancy electric chassis with super powerful autonomous driving tech and significantly more battery range than existing electric BMWs. They’ll also have a much smaller grille than existing BMWs. Thank flip. Back to top

Renault 4
When can I buy one?
Middle of 2025, we’re guessing. How much will it cost? From £30,000 before you’ve hit the options list. What should I know about it? It’s a small crossover about the size of a Nissan Juke that’s powered by electricity. Officially, it’s named to evoke the original Renault 4 and it features some of that car’s more interesting quirks, like a concertinaing (yep, that's a word) fabric roof. The name also happens to ride the wave of positivity engulfing the new Renault 5 though, which is a nice coincidence. Back to top

Lamborghini Temerario
When can I buy one?
You can order one now if you’re the sort that’s ever said “my guy at Lamborghini”. How much will it cost? Anything upwards of £260,000 What should I know about it? The replacement for the Huracan, which is to say Lamborghini’s ‘basic’ car, should have been called 'Teremario', because then it would sound like a Nintendo supervillan. Instead, its name means "reckless", which we suppose is apt because Lamborghini has given it a V8 engine instead of the V10 that basic Lamborghinis usually come with. An internet message board somewhere is running wild at this decision. WILD! Not to worry though, it still has more than enough power. Between the big engine and its three electric motors, the horsepower count goes beyond 900. That's quite good. Temerario, almost. Back to top

Renault Twingo
When can I buy one?
Right at the very end of 2025. Possibly early 2026, tbh. How much will it cost? Renault is aiming for less than 20,000 European pounds. What should I know about it? Now that the Renault 5 has gone all premium and Mini-ish, there’s a big space underneath it for a proper cheap little electric car. Enter Twingo. The picture above is the official concept, but expect the production car to be very similar, with a ‘monobox’ style that means it’ll seat five despite being smaller than Declan Donnelly’s Crocs. Fiat Grande Panda
When can I buy one?
Autumn 2025. How much will it cost? Less than £25,000 probably. What should I know about it? Fiat has finally released something that doesn’t riff on its 500 heritage … it riffs on its Panda heritage instead. The Grande Panda – that’s Italian for ”The Big Panda” – is a crossover SUV with either hybrid or full electric power. Fun fact: according to Fiat it has an “unexpected upper glovebox”. Well that's that surprise ruined. Thanks a lot, Fiat. Back to top

Alpine A290
When can I buy one?
You can pre-order one now. How much will it cost? From £34,000 What should I know about it? The A290 is the new Renault 5 but tarted up a bit by Alpine, so that it looks more aggressive and drives with a bit more sportiness. The higher-powered version has 220 horsepower. Weirdly, Alpine has moved the gear selector buttons to where the 5’s cupholders are, making this a rubbish thing to take to the Starbucks drive-through. The good news, though, is that by not going to Starbucks you'll save enough money to pay for at least two Alpine A290s every six months. Back to top

Range Rover Electric
When can I buy one?
It was supposed to be out already, so very soon. Hopefully. How much will it cost? An absolute fortune. What should I know about it? It’s a Range Rover but powered by electricity. Sorry for sounding facetious, but that’s basically all anybody knows about it so far. Aside from a couple of details, like how it can wade through puddles of precisely 850mm depth. You can guess what to expect, though: proper off-road ability coupled with utter luxury from the quietest Range Rover ever made. And at a price that, statistically speaking, you probably can’t afford. Back to top

Citroen C5 Aircross
When can I buy one?
Middle of 2025. How much will it cost? Somewhere in the £30,000 region. What should I know about it? Citroen revealed the C5 Concept you see above at the Paris Motor show a few months back. We’re expecting the production version imminently, with only a few details changed. Like those mad wheels, which look far too expensive for a production car. As per the outgoing car, it’ll be one of the most spacious, floatiest and most comfy family SUVs on the market. Back to top

Cupra Raval
When can I buy one?
Summer 2025. How much will it cost? Around £25,000 What should I know about it? Cupra says the Raval is “the urban electric car that challenges conventions and brings emotions.” Presumably those emotions are good ones – although a small electric crossover that provokes an overwhelming sense of existential ennui would be different, at least. More likely, the Raval will provoke mild intrigue, because it’s much more interesting to look at than the 2026 VW ID.2 on which it’s based. And it’ll definitely be marginally more fun to drive than that. Back to top

Polestar 5
When can I buy one?
Early 2026, probably How much will it cost? Around £80,000 What should I know about it? A Porsche Panamera-type thing in price and performance terms, but an Audi A7-type thing in the looks department. The Polestar 5 will have almost 900 horsepower, but also stick with the Polestar principle of being proper sustainable in every way. The interior is made of flax fibres and recycled bottles... that sort of thing... and the car will be built in a super duper new factory using an aluminium chassis. Back to top

Ford Puma Gen E
When can I buy one?
Spring 2025 How much will it cost? From £29,995 What should I know about it? Here are all the details, but in a nutshell, the Gen E is an electric Ford Puma with a different interior and a very non-different exterior. It'll be the cheapest Ford electric car when it goes on sale in 2025. And, if the driving experience is anything like the petrol Puma's, very possibly the best Ford electric car too. Back to top
