Most popular car colours in 2024
1. Grey
According to SMMT, grey was the most popular colour for new cars with more than a quarter of new cars registered in 2024 being grey cars.
Did you know: Ultimate Grey won the Pantone Colour of the Year in 2021. Car enthusiasts have been on the grey colour trend since 2018 though with it being the most popular car colour for seven years in a row. 2. Black
Black was the runner-up for the most popular car colours of 2024 for the seventh consecutive year.

3. Blue
Blue cars made a comeback in 2024 - for the first time in 14 years, blue moved up to the top three, knocking white down to the fourth position.
British drivers love for blue cars doesn't surprise us at all with it being inherently such a British colour. The fourth most popular car colour in 2024 was white, with about 7% white cars being registered in 2024 as compared to 2023.

Red was the fifth most popular car sold in the UK in 2024.
The colour red is a whole personality – it symbolises energy, strength and power – all things perfect for a fast and furious car. In seventh place was the colour green.
Green has had a big year in 2024 with Charli XCX's album Brat making neon green the colour of summer. In 2024, green cars saw a whopping increase of 27.7% in the number of registrations. In the eighth place is the colour yellow.
