Based on the official electric range and charging to usable capacity. For petrol the figure is based on the official miles per gallon.

Insurance

Based on the ABI insurance groups and use a table of costs from Group 1 to Group 50 to provide a fair comparison. The costs are based on a sample retail profile.

Road Tax

Road Tax (Vehicle Excise Duty) is currently £0 for all electric cars. For petrol and diesel vehicles the costs are calculated based on fuel type and Co2 emissions.

Depreciation

Figures are based on the difference between the acquisition cost and our forecast residual value after 3 years (30,000 miles). The Government plug-in car grant for qualifying EV’s of £2,500 has been applied, reducing the depreciation

Service costs

Servicing maintenance & tyres for a period of 3 years (30,000 miles). Figures based on manufacturer service schedules and tyre prices taken from our own researched data.
