Vauxhall Movano Hydrogen On Sale From Spring 2025

Hot on the heels of the Vauxhall Movano Hydrogen scooping the Editor’s Choice award at the 2025 What Van? Awards, and being mentioned in our own look ahead to the best new light commercial vehicles coming in 2025, the vehicle’s pricing, specification and sales launch date have been revealed. You will be able to buy a Movano Hydrogen from spring 2025 with prices starting from £66,450 OTR (pricing is explained further down this article). This first version will offer up to 311 miles of hydrogen-powered range and 5-minute refueling times.
The Movano Hydrogen is the product of over 20 years of developing hydrogen fuel cell vehicles at Vauxhall-Opel and Stellantis. It will join the current Vauxhall line-up of battery electric vans, which includes the Combo Electric small van, Vivaro Electric medium van and Movano Electric large van - all of which have been recently facelifted. Let’s take a closer look at what it has to offer.

The Vauxhall Movano Hydrogen goes on sale in the UK from Spring 2025. It will be available in all the usual franchise and retail outlets.

The Vauxhall Movano Hydrogen uses an electric motor producing a maximum power of 110kW (150PS) and 410Nm of torque. This is powered by a Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) fuel cell, rated at 45kW maximum power. This fuel cell is paired with four high-pressure hydrogen tanks capable of storing 7kg of hydrogen at 700 bar. An 11kWh lithium-ion battery provides support when starting or accelerating. Regenerative braking allows a clawback of some power into the battery and the battery can also be re-charged in 90 minutes (approximately) using an 11kW AC charger.

The Vauxhall Movano Hydrogen’s top range is 311 miles (WLTP). Refueling takes less than five minutes to fully charge.

The Vauxhall Movano Hydrogen will be available in Prime specification only. It will be equipped with an upgraded multimedia navigation system featuring a 10-inch touchscreen with an integrated TomTom satellite navigation system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, AM/FM/DAB digital radio, Bluetooth connectivity, and two USB connections. Voice control of the infotainment is also possible. A seven-inch digital instrument cluster behind the steering wheel will provide driving information.
Interior equipment includes rear parking sensors, automatic aircon, electric parking brake and twin-lens door mirrors (electrically adjustable with heated upper mirrors). There are two cup holders and a mobile phone compartment in the center of the lower dashboard, and keyless entry and go. The vehicles are all equipped with six-way adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar support and an armrest, and a dual passenger bench seat.

The two available versions will be priced as follows - please note that the prices are the on-the-road recommended retail prices after the plug-in van grant has been applied and excluding VAT:

As reported by Auto Trader earlier this year, Vauxhall began UK customer trials of the Vivaro Hydrogen - already sold in left-hand drive (LHD) markets by Vauxhall’s sister brand, Opel, making it the first commercially available production hydrogen van. Various companies are taking part in the trial ahead of the UK launch of the Movano Hydrogen.
