Tom Roberts

Tom’s interests in vans, commercial vehicles and motorcycles began in childhood, and before 2016 were purely personal interests. Joining Vanarama - a personal and commercial vehicle leasing company (now a part of the Auto Trader Group) - allowed Tom’s van and commercial vehicle passions to be put to professional use writing reviews, articles, sales copy and spec listings for Vanarama.com. As for motorcycles, that’s still a personal interest.

In 2017, Tom began writing and presenting van and pickup truck review videos for Vanarama’s YouTube channel - this helped to grow the channel and Tom’s reputation in the automotive industry as a commercial vehicle expert. It has led to presenting work with other companies, including the Ideal World shopping channel and Continental Tyres.

In 2023, Tom took on the role of Bikes, Leisure and Commercial Vehicles Content Marketing Manager at Auto Trader, creating and managing the creation of onsite features, reviews and other content relating to those vehicles.

Before commercial vehicles took over his life, Tom worked as a freelance journalist on national titles, radio and reporting on the gifts and greetings cards industries, before taking on senior editorial posts as managing editor of several medical titles and toy trade magazines.
