In 2021, Jaguar made the shock announcement it would be ripping up its playbook in the name of reinvention, and will officially relaunch with a fully electric range in 2025.
Jaguar is currently in hibernation whilst gearing up for its upcoming electrified relaunch, which means no new cars for the next three years. Could this rebirth revitalise this iconic, historic brand?

Jaguar’s legacy

There’s no denying that Jaguar is one of the most recognisable brands to come out of the UK, whose designs and mechanics have influenced the automotive industry through the decades. From the C-Type in the 1950s to the XKR coupe in 2006, Jaguar has undergone a series of transformations and we’re excited to see what they bring to the table next.

Jaguar’s luxurious electric future

Jaguar released its first all-electric car in the form of an SUV back in 2018, which took the EV (electric vehicle) market by storm. They took everything brand-lovers needed from the modern day car and combined it with some impressive technology to create the Jaguar I-Pace.
Auto Trader named the I-Pace “new car of the year 2021”, as voted for by over 148,000 UK car buyers, and its popularity amongst Brits is echoed through sales recently topping the 50,000 mark. If this electric debut for the Jaguar brand is anything to go by, we could be pleasantly surprised by the offerings to come in the next few years, as we see the entire range transformed into EVs. Jaguar has entered a hibernation period of sorts until 2025 whilst they reimagine their current models for the age of electrification. That’s right, within the next three years we could be seeing an entirely new luxury electric fleet on our roads, which could finally provide Tesla with a direct competitor, and who doesn’t love some healthy competition? You can check out new and used Jaguar models here. So what do you think? Will Jaguar’s electrified relaunch breathe new life into this iconic brand?
