The Lamborghini Urus SE is the latest update to the brand’s well-known super SUV, arriving at a time when competition in the high-performance luxury SUV market has intensified. With rivals like the Aston Martin DBX and Ferrari Purosangue stepping up, Lamborghini has responded with significant changes, including new hybrid technology.
The Urus SE combines a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine with an electric motor and a 25.9 kWh battery, which delivery a whopping total output of 800 PS and 950 Nm of torque. This results in a 0-62 mph time of 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 194 mph, placing it ahead of its main competitors. The Urus SE’s exterior has been refreshed with a floating bonnet, redesigned front bumper, Matrix LED headlights, alongside improved aerodynamics at the rear, with new spoilers and a diffuser that increases downforce by 35 per cent. Inside, the SE hosts a 12.3-inch infotainment system and an upgraded driver display, offering better resolution and hybrid-specific information. The driving experience is versatile, with modes like Hybrid, Recharge, and an all-electric option that can handle short trips in electric mode. A new multi-plate clutch system and electric motor torque distribution also enhance the driving dynamics, making it more agile and capable of power slides. Starting at £218,000, the Urus SE remains competitive in its class, providing more power than many rivals while offering updated technology and design. It’s a clear step forward for Lamborghini, catering to those looking for a high-performance SUV that balances power with modern features.
