Should you replace or repair a damaged car part? Not all parts will need replacing - read our guide to find out what will.

In some cases it may be cheaper to repair a part, but in other cases, it is easier to replace it. This will depend on the part damaged, the condition of the part and for what car the part is for.
If it is a mechanical part that has failed, it is usually a good idea to get it replaced with a new part, or a used one that has been tested. If a garage is repairing bodywork, they will usually take the cheapest option whether to repair or replace it, but bodyshops can be expensive.
Remember there are companies who will pull out dents without respraying panels, others who will 'blow over' minor scratches and chips and others that will repair interior trim.
